Our generous American allies patrons of Reims

   After engaging their live forces to restore our freedom between the two world wars, our American allies showed (in particular in Reims) an exceptional generosity organized by some great characters such as Myron T. Herrick.

The American women

offer a hospital to our children.

To this day, the American Hospital accommodates several pediatric services (medicine, surgery, radiology) with about 150 beds available.

John D. Rockefeller was (with Denmark) the principal patron of the difficult reconstruction (10 years) of the roof of the cathedral bombed on
September 19th 1914.


The American Committee (CARD)
builds an 18 court tennis club
with a swimming pool in the city centre.

The C.A.R.D was created by Anne Morgan to help the reconstruction of the devastated regions of France thanks to the considerable efforts of American solidarity.


Andrew Carnegie
offers a library

Created in 1905, the Andrew Carnegie Foundation continues its liberal ideal aimed at making the Arts accessible to the largest number of people.
