PROFESSIONAL FRENCH WINE ORGANISATIONS
The French viti-vinicultural network comprises nearly 900,000 hectares in production and annually produces nearly 9 billion bottles, that is more than either Italy or Spain.
It is made up of over 200,000 viticultural farmers, to which we can add 300,000 direct jobs. Altogether it represents 30% of the total of agricultural employment.
The exports in this sector are foremost amongst the French exported products with a total figure of about 7.5 billion Euros per year. This is equivalent to the car, aerospace or pharmaceutical industries.
The commercial surplus reaches 6.7 billion Euros, and by itself accounts for more than half of the agro-alimentary commercial surplus and a third of that generated by total exports.
