The
great Champagne brands joined together in 1882, creating an association
in order to:
- Coordinate
the fight against the disease phylloxera
- Prevent
the ‘Champagne’ name from being misused across the world
In general our members source grapes from their
own vineyards, but will make up the harvest from other partner
wine producers as required.
They create their Champagnes by carefully
blending a variety of grape types from different vineyards and
vintages to ensure consistency of taste and quality.
Numbering around
a hundred, our brands have a turnover of more than 2 billion Euros,
half of which is from outside France.
